AFL Gather Round 2023

The AFL Gather Round event aimed to celebrate football while actively engaging the local community. iEDM played a crucial role in planning, procuring, managing, ensuring safety, and delivering all temporary infrastructure across the Adelaide Hills and Norwood venues.

• 3,000+ grandstand seating
• 24m x 7.2m multi-storey modular structure with glass frontage
• 230m of LED boundary ribbon screens
• 2 x 36sqm LED super screens on truss-mounted structures
• 750sqm of scaffold platforms for team prep facilities
• 10 broadcast platforms
• 1,200+ sqm of marquee structures
• 21 portable toilet blocks (190 pans in total)
• 11 portable buildings
• 23 generators
• Over 2.3km of temporary fencing
• Electrical, production, and communications overlay
• 3 food and beverage hubs + terrace activation
• Approximately 1,300+ sqm of temporary flooring
• 22 televisions
• Over 80 temporary services connections
• Over 100 plants/greenery

Adelaide Hills Permanent Infrastructure Upgrades (by Council):

• New goal posts to AFL standard
• New link road from adjacent housing development
• 1km of perimeter fencing
• Refurbishment of interchange benches
• NBN internet upgrade

Achievements and Impact:
The AFL Gather Round event successfully celebrated football while actively engaging the community. iEDM's meticulous planning and delivery of temporary infrastructure at both venues created a vibrant and enjoyable atmosphere for approximately 25,715 patrons. Additionally, the event prompted permanent infrastructure upgrades in the Adelaide Hills, leaving a lasting legacy of improved facilities and connectivity.
