Clipsal 500 Adelaide - Extension to iEDM Agreement

iEDM and the South Australian Tourism Commission (SATC) have extended their current agreement, for iEDM to act as the Engineering Project Managers for the Clipsal 500 Adelaide until the 2018 Event.

On behalf of the SATC, iEDM annually deliver roughly $16M of temporary overlay infrastructure for this iconic Australian Event.

“We are very proud to extend our association with this major event and our strong partnership with our Client in the SATC. This Event is one of the largest temporary infrastructure builds in Australia which hosts around 300,000 patrons over 4 days. It’s a substantial logistics and planning operation and I am always proud of the way our team applies themselves and the manner which they deliver this project” says iEDM Managing Director, Liam Howe.

The 2016 Clipsal 500 Adelaide has undergone significant change, which has been driven and implemented through the last 6 months of detailed planning and procurement. Over 90% of the existing supplier contracts for the Clipsal 500 Adelaide were required to undergo re-tender for the 2016 Event. At the same time, there was a strong desire from the SATC to improve quality of infrastructure supplied at the Event.

The result is that iEDM have delivered a major facelift in the form of around 40% new patron facilities for 2016 – this is made up of new grandstands, corporate facilities, patron wifi, patron comfort, super screens, additional access for persons with a disability and more. iEDM expect that this infrastructure upgrade will result in a significant improvement in patron experience.

iEDM are the principal contractor for the project, responsible for engineering, design, project management, construction management of all temporary infrastructure. iEDM undertake these services from our South Australian office with technical assistance from our key partners Lucid Consulting, RLB and W&G Consulting.
